Kayan App is a directory of services and places in Kayan Compound, Egypt. We collect as little data as the app needs. We do not sell your data and we show no ads.

What we collect

• Account data (optional): if you create an account we store your name, email address and app language. The directory works without an account.
• What you post: your reviews and comments are public under your name. Your favorites are private.
• Business owners: the business details, photos and offers an owner adds are public. Subscription and payment records are kept for accounting.
• Anonymous counts: we count page views and taps on call, WhatsApp and directions for each business, using a random per-install ID that is not linked to your name or account, so owners can see their visits.
• Notifications: if you allow notifications, your device joins a public compound news channel through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. We do not store your device token in our database.

We do not collect your location or contacts. Photos are uploaded only when a business owner chooses them.

Service providers

• Supabase: database, sign-in and photo storage.
• Google Firebase: push notifications.
• Resend: emails such as password reset.

Deleting your account

In the app, go to Account and choose Delete account. Your account, name, email and favorites are deleted immediately. Your reviews remain for the businesses, shown as "Former resident", with no link to you. See account deletion.

Children

The app is meant for adult residents and does not knowingly collect data from children.
